Following major road works by LMSC it was gazetted Yerambla Close on 7 May 1976. Previously it was a part of Birubi Close. Yerambla is possibly a variation of the Aboriginal word 'yeramba' meaning 'sugar ant' (Source: "Aboriginal Words of Australia" AH and AW Reed).
