Wakefield Road
An early road connecting settlements it runs from Barnsley, through Wakefield to connect with Fassifern Road and Cessnock Road. The Rural Fire Service, tennis court and the Eddie Peterson Memorial Park are here. Eddie Peterson Memorial Park, named after Wakefield resident Thomas Edward (Eddie) Peterson who was very active in local affairs including watering and rolling the tennis court and mowing the park. He died aged 51 and the residents asked that the park be named after him. In early times, Wakefield Road used to be called Cooranbong Road.
