Albert Street
Originally named Fifth Street in the 1902 Sulphide Corporation Subdivision, it had been renamed by 1929. In early times William Brooks built a skipline from his Lochend mine to a jetty on the waterfront opposite Albert Street to ship the coal away. Both Smith and Flowers had shops in Albert Street during the 1930s and 40s.
