Main Road
This was an early road that went through Quigley's Estate at Booragul and followed the railway track to Fennell Bay. It was the major thoroughfare to Toronto, and was often impassable after heavy rain, making travel down the Western side of the lake difficult. It was sealed in 1933, and closed to traffic in 1992 when a newer, wider road - known as Toronto Road - was built to the east.
The old road still exists, but is blocked off at the Booragul end. It is officially known as Old Main Road and continues south to the northern border of Fennell Bay, where it's name changes to Main Road and it becomes an access road for existing housing. A possible reason for the dual names is because, although it is just one road, the Main Road section has dwellings along it, and the section named Old Main Road has no dwellings. The quality of the road surface also degrades quite severely and is obviously not maintained on Old Main Road.
