Evelyn Ames serving petrol in front of Barney White’s shop in the late-1930s. The shop was on the right-hand side at the top of Clarke Street, Catherine Hill Bay. It had previously been Gillon’s shop and later became Flarty’s. Wallarah Hotel (now Catho Pub) is in the background. The handsome young man on the motorbike is Colin Mascord, later to become Ev’s husband.
