Edward Percival Gain, c.1945. He was shire president of Lake Macquarie Council in 1945-1946. Family member advised that he was a sergeant in the 35th Battalion in World War I, and was awarded the military metal for Conspicuous Bravery (gazetted - London Gazette 14 August 1917).
