This was the fourth ship called Wallarah. She was specially designed for this run to Newcastle from the jetty at Catherine Hill Bay. The cargo of coal was blended and loaded directly into the 100,000 ton coal ships waiting in the Port of Newcastle. The ship was designed to have a fast discharge system. based on a Scandinavian design and built for the company in Edo,Japan. When the mine closed in 2006 the ship was sold and works under the name of IKUNA.ll. Photograph part of the Armstrong Collection. circa 1995
