Pictured are James McGeachie and his wife Mary McGeachie with their children Mary Lewis McGeachie 1887-1975; James George McGeachie 1890-1974; Hendry Ronaldson 1893-1961; David Gordon 1895-1940 Duncan Clelland Forbes 1898-1952; John William Hector 1903-1987; Colin Hoskin 1905-2000, Thought to be taken at the mine manager's house at Killingworth. James McGeachie was chief engineer at Killingwoth Colliery in the 1890s. His son Duncan was Mine Manager at Killingworth Colliery. Killingworth Colliery was originally known as Newcastle New Wallsend Colliery. It was owned by the Newcastle New Wallsend Coal Company. In 1895 ownership changed to the Caledonian Coal Company and it become Killingworth Colliery with production starting in 1897. In 1905 the namechanged to the West Wallsend-Killingworth Colliery and in about 1915, the Wallsend Extended Colliery. It operated for various time periods - 1897 to 1913, 1920 to 1930, and 1950 to 1956.
