Seahampton
Name Origin:
Seahampton came into existence when the nearby Seaham No. 1 colliery was opened. Its name was originally Seaham, and evolved to become Seahampton.(Source: 'Holmesville, One Mans Vision' by L. Price.).
European History
After the mine ceased, the growth of Seahampton was affected. Today it is virtually built out with new and brightly reconditioned cottages.
Seahampton was the most northern suburb in Lake Macquarie City for many years, until the recent expansion of Cameron Park in the early 2000s..
