Hooper Street
Hooper Street was named in 1964. It was named for Sidney John Hooper in recognition for his work assisting Lake Macquarie Shire Council. Mr Hooper rode his bicycle extensively around the Charlestown area and reported back to the council on works needing to be attended to. Mr Hooper lived on the corner of Princes Avenue and Edward Street extended(later Garvey Grove).
