Lake Macquarie History

Caldwell Avenue

This had earlier been an unnamed road and was named in 1960 after Bert Caldwell, a landowner here. The Caldwell family had a horse property here at one time. Bert Caldwell was well known for his dance studio in Hamilton.

On a reserve in Caldwell Avenue is a large cement cover over the airshaft of the old Dudley Colliery.
