Lake Macquarie History

Transfield Avenue

It was named after the Transfield Company sometime after 1966. In the 1970s, this avenue led off Minmi Road to the Transfield Company work site and depot (it was a plant site for storing their cranes, etc). The company was involved in many electrical infrastructure projects, including the erection of transmission towers in this area.
