Barton Street
Edmund Barton was Australia's first Prime Minister. A prominent NSW politician, Barton became leader of the Federal Movement in 1891. Barton was one of the founding fathers of the Constitution. Barton Street, on Crown land, was surveyed in 1894. Other streets named after prominent NSW politicians of the time were Abbott and Copeland. These two streets were never developed although they factored into the original plan.
