Naru Street
Naru Street was built in 1952, leading to a boat-launching site near Naru Point. Naru Point is located at the entrance to Swan Bay adjacent to the main Swansea Channel. Naru is an Aboriginal word meaning black ( Lissarrague, p125). This street name, was perhaps inspired by black swans on Swan Bay.
