Lake Macquarie History

High Street

Built on the high end of town, this may be the reason for this street name given in the early 1900s. Skelton's poultry farm was here from the late 1920s to the early 1940s. The Memonite Church of Hope is located here. High Street is a name that was often used to promote prestige in a subdivision.
