Lake Macquarie History

Chifley Road

Originally part of Macquarie Road, and an unnamed road, it was gazetted Chifley Road on the 26 June 1982. Benjamin Chifley was a PM of Australia. Chifley Road connects with Victoria Street in Windermere Park where this name may have been chosen to complement the theme of streets named after prominent people.
