Badjewoi Street was named in the Town of Wyee subdivision named on 22 August 1891. This name is thought to be a variation of spelling of Budgewoi, a town in the Wyong LGA. Budgewoi is an Aboriginal word meaning 'young grass' (Source: "The Story of the Aboriginal People of the Central Coast of NSW" edited by F.C. Bennett).
