Nulkara Street
Believed to be a variation in spelling of the Awabakal word 'nulka', this is a kind of ironstone, which abounds on the seacoast. There is a vein of iron running over coal at the sea entrance of Lake Macquarie (Source: L.E. Threlkeld). Nulkara Street, part of the Wommera Estate was named in 1925.
