Tamar Street
Tamar was the name of a coal ship known in the Port of Newcastle. On a LMSC street name list, Tamar is a river in the U.K. Some historically significant Nissan Huts were erected on crown land in 1945 and the name was gazetted in 1958 when ownership of the street was transferred to Lake Macquarie Shire Council. Tamar is a companion street name with Arlington, Somerset, and Harlo Streets.
