Lake Macquarie History

Aitchison Reserve, Pelican

Named in 1994 after old resident Robert Aitchison who worked to improve the town. A trustee of the reserve, he promoted vigoro, soccer, cricket and bowls being played there. He was a member of the Progress Association who voted that the name be given to the reserve showing the esteem he had earned in the community. Submitted by Councillor Shields at Council Meeting 11 April 1994.
