Lake Macquarie History

Wyee Cemeteries

Bethshan Cemetery is located next to the Bethshan Ministries complex at Wyee. The complex comprises an aged care facility, retirement village, conference centre and community church. The Bethshan Holiness Mission was formed in 1908 and the cemetery appears to have commenced a few years later. The earliest inscription is for 1920.

Wyee Cemetery is about 1 km east of Wyee township off the left side of Summerhayes Rd. The cemetery is administered by the Lake Macquarie City Council. Inscriptions at Wyee Cemetery date from 1910 and the cemetery is still in use with recent burials noted.
