An unnamed street gazetted Bailey Street on 5 August 1983. Bailey Street is thought to have been named after Bert Bailey, a well-known star of stage, radio, and screen. Bailey played "Dad" in the popular "Dad and Dave" series. His house was built on The Bluff in Morisset Park.
