Mulubina Road
The word mulubina is believed to be a variation or misspelling of L.E. Threlkeld's "mulubin" meaning the Awabakal name of an edible fern, which was plentiful in the waters around Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, and "mulubinba" or "Muloobinba" being the earliest recorded aboriginal name for the site of Newcastle'. Mulubina Road was named in Halloran's 1913 subdivision.
