Yarrawonga Park

Originally part of Balcolyn on the Morisset Peninsula.

Early settlers were the Wilson family. Yarrawonga is an Aboriginal word meaning "where the wonga or cormorant builds in the river gums" (Source: "Aboriginal Place Names" by Aldo Massola).

A neighbourhood on the Morisset Peninsula, west of Silverwater and south west of Balcolyn, the placename of Yarrawonga Park in the Parish of Morisset was assigned the designation of suburb and the boundaries were defined on 31 May 1991 (Source: NSW Geographical Names Board).
