    Private Stephen Greenfield enlisted on 13 July 1915 and joined the 1st Battalion, 11th Reinforcements of the Australian Imperial Force, He was killed in action in France 22-25 July 1916 and is commemorated in the Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux. His brother Albert Greenfield was killed in action in December of the same year. Both were the children of Samuel and Isabella Greenfield of Killingworth. From the Jim Wood Collection, kindly donated by Jim Wood.
