    Thomas Wood is memorialised on the Killingworth Soldiers' Memorial Monument. He was not a resident of Lake Macquarie, but was given a place on the memorial due to his family ties with Killingworth - brother Sapper James Wood. Both have their surnames incorrectly inscribed as Woods. Thomas was killed in action in September 1915 at Gallipoli, Kindly donated by Jim Wood.
