    Mrs Spring, husband and child were given permission to live in the clubhouse of the private tennis court built by a group of men west of the school.Tennis was played a lot in the town and at one time there were 4 courts. At first this was a mens only court but they found that they needed the income from women who wanted to play during the week.The Springs were tasked with keeping the court in good order.
