    The house was built for the Wallarah Coal Mining Company in 1914 and later owned by Coal and Allied. William and Cecilia Hooey occupied the house in the early years and were given the opportunity to buy the house for 400 pounds in 1964. It has been owned by three generations of the Hooey family.
