    On 10 December 1987 signalman Jim is about to give the safe working staff to the observer in 4703 as the empty train(with 4899 second unit to 4703) proceeds south to John Darling Colliery. Such exchanges were once a common part of the work practices at Redhead Station. Photo. Ed. Tonks.
