    Built in 1924, the license was transferred from the adjacent Belmont Hotel (formerly Belmont House), shown at the right of the picture. Belmont House was originally owned by Thomas Williamson in the 1870s, and was later the holiday home of the Clift family, which they renamed "The Gunyah".
