It was located between the suburbs of Killlingworth and Barnsley. The building was demolished sometime after 2010. The property is Lot 25 DP 1110268. The dwelling and it’s associated infrastructure (outhouse, fences, old stock gates and shed) is on land purchased by BHP Billiton when they purchased the Stockton borehole colliery in 1947 and is now owned by Oceanic Coal. The dwelling is believed to have been part of a series of mining cottages in the area that were originally placed on land owned by John Black. The land was referred to as Blacks estate prior to the establishment of the Killingworth residential areas. The dwelling was occupied until shortly before the photograph was taken.
