    This building was the original School of Arts building opened 12 December 1892. The building has had many uses. It doubled for some time as the community hall, The rear portion of the building was the temporary home of West Wallsend Workers club for a period.from August 1947-1954. It also operated as a branch of Lake Macquarie Library from 1954-1986, and as a Community Centre.
