    Promila Gupta came to Australia from India, along with her family, in 1983. Life was very different and to combat her lonelieness she joined her local migrant centre, where she started teaching Indian cooking. Now residing in Lake Macquarie, Promila Gupta continues sharing her passion for cooking in newspapers, on SBS radio and through WEA classes. She also travels with tour groups to India, acting as guide. Today she enjoys being an Australian, appreciating and sharing the love and connections with her land of birth. Promila pafticipated in the 2015 Harmony Day Project, which celebrated the diversity and strong sense of community our migrant population have contributed to in Lake Macquarie.
