Oral History
Oral history recreates sights and sounds as it brings to life the experiences, joys and frustrations, as well as the achievements of everyday people who made a rich and colourful contribution to our past. It is concerned with giving them a voice, and often the only way to find out about the past is to ask someone who was there.
The following recordings are the voices of experience, uniquely qualified to record vital chapters in the history of Lake Macquarie. In telling that history, they share their sense of belonging to our community, and those of us who listen will come to appreciate their contribution to the making of our city.
