Day Trips
Balmoral was a popular place for excursions, day trips, and picnics. A steamer named 'Giraffe' would leave Belmont at around 10.30 in the morning and return at 5 pm. Those preferring to travel by land could catch a Hubbard's coach from town to the lake. From the late 1940's the lakeside suburbs of Balmoral, Marmong Point, Wangi Wangi, Blackalls and Coal Point came to be considered for residential living, rather than just holiday destinations.
