Australia Remembers ~ 1945 - 1995

The 'Australia Remembers' 50th Anniversary Commemorative activities, to celebrate the end of the Second World War in the Pacific, provided an opportunity for modern Australians to learn about the history of our country and the impact that the war had upon Australia and South East Asia. 'Australia Remembers, 1945-1995' encouraged wide community participation in the creation of numerous commemorative projects.

This register of service men and women from Lake Macquarie is one such project. It was created in 1995, and provides a resource for those researching the involvement of the local WWII generation, particularly for the younger generation, yearly becoming more conscious of this legacy.
