Venetia Avenue
With creeks, a bay and low-lying land nearby the early settlers may have thought it reminiscent of Venice. Venetia Avenue is thought to have been named late in the nineteenth century. A house in Venetia Avenue once featured a front fence made from petrified wood sourced from the ancient fossilised forest that once stood in the water of the bay. The Edmunds Bay Wetland is near the end of this street, it is a Lake Macquarie Priority Rehabilitation Program.
