Billy(1)'s story. Caves Beach Public School shared stories project 2022
The beeping sound of my alarm echoes through my mind as I awaken from my sleep at quarter to 6am. I struggle to get out of bed as the cold air trembles through my toes. My wetsuit is as stiff a rock from the salt after yesterday. To my surprise, I slide on my wetsuit easily. I run on the sand as it tickles my toes. As I push down on my board to get under a wave, the water runs through my matted hair and drips down my wetsuit. I paddle furiously until I’m on the next wave. I pop up and look over my shoulder in order to turn. It was worth it!
