Lake Macquarie History

Hayden Brook Road

An access road to Woodrising, it was developed by NSW Land and Housing in 1988. Commencing at Park Parade, it ran along a section of Ellesmere Street, which was then re-named. Named for Booragul resident Haydon Brook, who was killed in a car accident in 1983. A local youth worker at the time - Ian Russell - suggested the name to council as a mark of respect for Haydon who also worked with young people in the area.
