Mine Camp Road

In the early 1890s, a settlement known as 'Mine Camp' developed north of the original town; this was close to where the mines were then situated. A private road, Mine Camp Road was named from this former settlement, consisting of about 15 houses..

The road originally joined the Pacific Highway and was known as Old Sydney Road by the Housing Comission and other agencies.

It was reported in the NSW Government Gazette of Friday 21 August 1987 that "Proposed Road Closure. (Mine Camp Road). The southern closure being at its intersection with Flowers Drive, the northern closure being adjacent to the southern boundary of the Anglican Church property Catherine Hill Bay).—Notice is hereby given that the Council intends to apply to the Traffic Authority of New South Wales for consent to the placing and maintaining of obstruction or barriers at Mine Camp Road, the southern closure being at its intersection with Flowers Drive, the northern closure being adjacent to the southern boundary of the Anglican Church property (Catherine Hill Bay). "

The road has since fallen into disuse and is no longer navigable.
