Lake Macquarie History

Avondale Road

In 1894, the Avondale Estate was purchased and named by the Adventists, in the same year the SDA Conference was committed to develop the Bible School otherwise known as Avondale.

Avondale Road was part of the 1500 acre Avondale Estate. There are no less than 12 towns in US named Avondale.

The Avondale SDA School and the heritage house 'Sunnyside' were built by Ellen G White, Cooranbong pioneer with the South Sea Island Museum. They are in this street.
