Lake Macquarie History

Ginkers Way

Ginkers Way was developed in 2004; the applicant was Proust Gardiner Consultants Pty. Ltd. Ginkers may have been a misspelling of 'jinkers'. A jinker is a carrier used to transport logs to the sawmill, a name relevant to the early timber workers. See also the names of other relevant streets in this subdivision: Cedar Cutters Crescent, Sawmillers Terrace, and Splitters Row.
