Lake Macquarie History

Shonnala Street

Previously an unnamed road, it was gazetted Shonnala Street on 14 October 1983. A gravel road, its main function is to serve as a fire trail.

The name is thought to originate from the names of the family that built a home at the top of the street - Allan and Linda Leyshon.
