Blackbutt Street, named in 1949, connected with Commission Avenue. Sometime after 1955, they were both renamed Blackbutt Parade. They were Housing Commission developments. The well known Blackbutt Reserve is nearby in New Lambton. A Blackbutt is a eucalyptus tree.
