Lake Macquarie History

Gibson Street

An earlier unnamed road, it was gazetted Gibson Street in 1985. Gibson Street was named after Belmont identity Percy Gibson, a member of the Volunteer Fire Service Brigade and a number of service clubs. He was awarded 'Senior Citizen of the Year' and 'British Empire Medal' and was named in recognition of his contribution to the Belmont community.
