Lake Macquarie History

Nord Street

Originally named Second Street in the 1902 Sulphide Corporation subdivision, it had been renamed by 1929, some have said that it may have been named after a family that once lived there although it is also possible that it was named after Councillor William Henry Nord, Deputy President of Lake Macquarie Shire Council in 1929.
