Sid Toon Park, Belmont
Named in memory of Sid Toon an Ambulance Station Officer at Belmont, recognizing his devotion through 36 years of ambulance service to the community and industry. About 1959 this park was called Belmont Rotary Park when trees were planted and tables and seats were built.
The Rotary Club of Belmont developed the park and planted trees and shrubs.They also erected fine wrought iron gates, bearing the name "Rotary Park" as entry to the park. For many years, the Club proudly, faithfully and regularly maintained the park - mowing, weeding and removing rubbish.
