Lake Macquarie History

Faucett Street

Named Government Road in 1883 until after 1955 when it was renamed Faucett Street. The Water Board acquired adjacent land here for treatment works; it is interesting to note that a faucet is another name for a tap. Bob Kyrwood of Toronto built the butcher's shop in the shopping centre in 1954.
