    James Wood, miner from Killingworth, enlisted in the AIF 22 May 1916. He joined the Tunnelling Companies Reinforcements and served in France. He returned to Australia 11 May, 1919 and reunited with his wife Annie and three children at their Blacko Estate home in Killingworth. He is memorialised on the Killingworth Memorial.
