Duncan Clelland Forbes McGeachie (1898-1952). Postcard sent to David Gordon McGeachie, son of James McGeachie serving with the AIF in World War I. Inscription on front reads"Don't you think I would make a good soldier". Inscription on back reads "My dear brother, This is a photo I have had taken just after a 16 day camp at Newcastle Show Ground. It was taken by a Killy boy just outside of the houses on the Green last Sunday. I will tell you about the camp in a letter following. Hoping this finds you in the best of health and spirits as it leaves me. From your loving brother Duncan Forbes."

    This photograph is part of the McGeachie family collection. James McGeachie was chief engineer at Killingwoth Colliery in the 1890s. His son Duncan was Mine Manager at Killingworth Colliery.
